So recently, due to me being in college and what not, I have been unable to do anything with my Makerbot. However, I am still making things! I have started a radio show, so if you would like to listen to that it is on Sunday from 8-10 Eastern Coast Time, and I play new Alternative and Electronic music. The website is Thecollegeradio.com/werw/ I am also still building things. I am currently in the process of making a Deadmau5 head for halloween so I will be posting pictures about that later!

My most recent project
Recently i have been doing work in video game prop and armor replicas. I'm finishing up the solid eye from Metal Gear Solid right now, as well as working on Emiel's armor from halo reach. Pictures to come on the process for that. Although i have been working on that, i have still been messing around with my makerbot. I've finally upgraded my extruder to the MK5 and it works like a charm. its honestly 1000x better than my last extruder, but thats not saying much considering that i had the first generation hardware. But its back up and running beautifully. They also just released another makerbot called the Thing-O-matic, which looks interesting everything about it has been upgraded. So ill see where those go, and maybe upgrade if it looks like a good move. Ill post pictures of the armor, prop, and robot later.

Changing the blog
Since i cover pretty much everything that i do on this blog except cooking (i have a separate blog for that) i was thinking about changing the name/topic of this blog, to more of a tinkerer theme. But maybe not, i might just leave it as is, but still post all of my experiments/projects.
Perpetual Motion
So i was bored yesterday, and started to think about perpetual motion devices. Seeing how it is impossible, i started to think about how to make a completely self contained electric generator. Which, in theory, should work. However, so should many other things. essentially, it will be coils of copper wire, wrapped around a spool, with a motor with magnets on it, spinning in the middle. This will create electricity, which with a little circuit work, will in turn power the motor, creating a full circle.

yet more problems...
Well i guess nothing is perfect for long. After fixing one thing, new issues arise. It seems that one of the bolts that secure the plastruder assembley is in the way of the build platform, as well as the two endstops. Good thing this isn't too pig of an issue. just a few screws to take out, than retighten. So i should be up and running again soon. As always, if there is anything you would like printed, hit me up with an email, or post a comment. Also Check Out thingiverse.com. Lots of cool things on there
